Our rates are $75 CAD per hour for writing and editing, and $100 CAD per hour for consultation. Some of our service packages are based on a blended rate determined by the same breakdown.

For US clients, our rates are $55 USD per hour for writing and editing, and $75 USD per hour for consultation. (Subject to change based on exchange rate.)
Our manuscript rates are calculated as a blended hourly and per-word rate, dependent on the type of editing you’re looking for and tailored specifically to you after a free sample edit. We’ll follow up with a brief Author Onboarding Form, set up a complimentary, no-obligation 15–20 minute consultation call, and we’ll conduct a sample edit so that we can put together a customized quote for your project.
While we’re unable to guarantee that media outlets will pick up your story, we can ensure your news hits the right desks, and we’re happy to work with you on determining if your content is newsworthy or if another format would be a better fit. Working with writers and editors like us, who already have relationships with news agencies — and are familiar with the required format and channels — speeds up this process and can often lead to better results. Our distribution lists are carefully curated to reach local, provincial, national, and/or specialty news and media outlets tailored to suit your goals and message.
Of course! We’re happy to work alongside you and/or other professionals who have already developed branding and strategy on your behalf. In that case, we’d skip the first date — the getting to know you bit — and instead take the time to review what’s already been developed and fill in any gaps before we dive in. Absolutely! While we don’t post/upload content or manage social media channels on our clients’ behalf, we do provide consultation and strategy, and can also help write and/or edit posts. In fact, all our Media & Marketing packages include the creation of social posts based on the content we produce (e.g., blog posts, press releases, case studies, etc.) for you to share on Facebook, Instagram, and/or LinkedIn! If you are looking for someone to manage your social media channels — i.e. do the posting for you —  we are also happy to refer you to one of the social media managers in our trusted block of collaborators.
We offer keyword research through our Communications Consultation & Strategy service, where we get to know your business by drilling down into your target markets. This research gives us insight into your preferred language and tone, which we then use for creating search-engine-optimized copy and/or content. We also make recommendations on how you can best use content marketing to boost SEO. If you require more extensive SEO work, we can refer you to an expert in our trusted block of collaborators.
If you already have a domain and you’re looking to refresh an existing Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress site, our in-house Digital Marketing & Tech Whiz can help optimize your site and populate it with updated copy and content on your behalf. If you’re looking for a custom build for a new site, we’re happy to refer you to one of the web designers/developers in our trusted block of collaborators — and we also play nice with those outside our network!
Although we’re not publishers, we can certainly help! Our Author Solutions services are completely custom, starting with a range of support from consulting about options and direction with our Author Communications Confab, to providing any and all stages of editing support (developmental, substantive, structural, stylistic, copyediting, and proofreading). We also know the journey doesn’t stop there. Traditional and self-publishing journeys are quite different, so we offer packages and add-ons for everything from social media pitches and query letters to author bios and synopses. If you’re opting to self-publish on platforms such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Draft2Digital, or others, we can consult on navigating those platforms as well. A query letter won’t serve you there, but author bios, synopses, and back-cover copy will be crucial for marketing your book effectively.
Absolutely! There’s nothing we love more than collaborating with other professionals. Whether you’re a web designer, graphic artist, photographer, videographer, or social media manager, you want to focus on what you do best for your clients. That’s where we come in! If your client needs website copy, a couple of blog posts, some help with social media, or an entire Communications Consultation & Strategy, we can help!
